Community Grant

Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses and nursing students are participating in projects throughout the state to bring desperately needed psychiatric care to underserved and vulnerable populations. Our Community Grant provides up to $2,000 to support a project which brings mental health services to communities across our state.

Our Impact

The shortage of mental health providers in Washington state is a significant problem.

Community health, rural counties, and underserved communities struggle to find qualified mental health providers.

Psychiatric nursing is widely recognized as an effective mental health treatment. The nursing model of integrated and holistic care is essential in meeting our community’s mental health treatment needs.

However, funding support for graduate psychiatric nursing students is hard to find.

The Lois Price Spratlen Foundation helps bridge that gap. We help the next generation continue the traditions of leadership, mentorship, and health care evaluation and innovation.
